The event brought in 100 high-end bottles of wine, which are expected to raise more than $10,000 at the 18th Annual Mission Hospital Holiday Gala in December. Proceeds from the Holiday Gala will benefit the Neuroscience and Spine Institute at Mission Hospital.

The Sept. 18 Wine Procurement was a picturesque outdoor event where guests were asked to donate a bottle of wine for auction as their admittance. The event attracted the finest and most expensive wines, including an imperial bottle of Silver Oak, Napa Valley valued at around $1,000, along with several bottles of Dom Perignon and Far Niente.

Salt Creek Grille’s delectable gourmet cheese display – with Humboldt Fog, Point Reyes, Manchego and aged goat – by Executive Chef Tony Trujillo paired well with the wine sponsor, JUSTIN Vineyard. The parings of cheese and wine complemented the event designed to raise money for a good cause.

The event is near and dear to the Salt Creek Grille family. A few years ago, Adam Williams, co-chair of the Holiday Gala, was rushed to Mission Hospital with a critical brain injury from a motorcycle crash. Doctors and nurses used state-of-the-art traumatic brain injury protocols that save his life and prevented long-term neurological consequences. Because of his care, his family has donated millions to the hospital to fund several different ICU equipment and neurological advancements. The Williams family is also responsible for the Adam Williams Initiative which trains and educates hospitals around the country on traumatic brain injuries and the latest in neurological care. Salt Creek Grille’s marketing director Sri Divel connected with Adam’s wife, Jana, after Sri’s husband suffered two strokes at the age of 32 and received outstanding care at the hospital.

The event is the latest fundraising endeavor by Salt Creek Grille owners Pete Truxaw and Tim McCune. The partners regularly give back to the community hosting annual fundraisers for nonprofits, Donate Life drives and donating food to feed the less fortunate.
