Hotel Maya Presents It’s Back to Home School Blues’

Virtual Classroom Package For The Upcoming School Year

K-12 parents and students will find much needed relief in the one-room ‘hotel school’ while enjoying boxed lunches, recess breaks and perhaps a dip in the pool after school in the open-air, seaside setting.

Taking on the traditional instruction of a one-room schoolhouse, Hotel Maya is commencing with its new version of an old academic concept with its one-room “hotel school” for the 2020-2021 school year.

As parents struggle to find a balance for stay-at-home instruction and online teaching, Hotel Maya is providing a fresh and innovative new way to teach at the water’s edge with Hotel Maya’s “Back to Home School Blues” virtual classroom package with special day rates starting at $110 for a Garden View or $120 for a Deluxe Water View that is available daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each Hotel Maya one-room “hotel school” includes a room with a fully functioning workspace with free WiFi, an ergonomic chair, a mini refrigerator and a single-pod coffee maker; boxed lunches for two, recess break that includes cookies and milk for the student, and chips, guacamole and margarita for the parent; complimentary parking is also included. Guests simply bring their laptop, tablet or mobile device for teaching and Hotel Maya will do the rest.

Guests can ask for the “Back to Home School Blues” virtual classroom package when calling 562-435-7676 or book online at https://www.hotelmayalongbeach.com/special-offers.

“We look forward to welcoming parents and their kids to experience a new learning environment with Hotel Maya’s one-room ‘hotel school’ concept along the waterfront with everything you need to inspire learning and beat the back to school blues” said Greg Guthrie, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a Doubletree by Hilton. “We understand the obstacles facing parents and the challenges that homeschooling can create for students, so we’ve combined everything you need to home school with play areas to create open-air learning with fun spaces like the splash of a cool pool.”

Parents and students can also teach and relax at the largest man-made beach in Long Beach, “Playa at the Maya.” The 6,500-square-feet resort-style, urban beach features 285 tons of real sand, two 4-feet diameter fire pits, colorful umbrellas, comfortable chaise lounges and cozy day bed.
