Sapphire at School, a program founded by Sapphire Laguna’s Chef Azmin Ghahreman, which is designed to teach children about well-balanced nutrition and feed them delicious, fresh, chef-prepared meals, is thrilled to announce it will begin serving the close to 875 students and faculty at St. Anne School in Laguna Niguel, California, out of the completely remodeled two-story multi-purpose building beginning February 2.

The previous open-air, one-story dining pavilion was demolished to make way for the facility updates which began in 2014. Renovations included the addition of four restrooms, the installation of several 42-inch monitors for digital menu display and real-time updates, along with adding a 4,100 square foot second story foodservice and multipurpose space. Serving K-8 students, the new accommodations will alleviate congestion at service windows and, with the tiered dining schedule, will allow for a more enjoyable and relaxed dining experience. To manage the expanded dining amenities, St. Anne School has hired an additional Sapphire at School staff member.

The upper level will also serve as a much-needed versatile technology-rich room that showcases two 90-inch wall-mounted TVs along with a state-of-the-art audio system controlled by touch-screen panels. Along with student dining, the multi-purpose area will be available for clubs, meetings, practices, and various student activities that require more space than the classroom setting.

Originally partnering with Ghahreman and his Sapphire at School program in 2009, St. Anne School has shown continued commitment to the overall improvement of student dining. The school renovated its kitchen facilities in 2006 so Sapphire at School would have the tools necessary for the onsite preparation of fresh, balanced meals for students and staff.
