Scenically located along the Pacific Ocean, Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach – a stylishly casual bar, grill and retail store – opened its doors to welcoming crowds of locals and tourists on Nov. 6. Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach is the renowned retailer’s newest restaurant/retail location and was carefully planned to capture Laguna Beach’s distinctive beach town charm and artistic colony vibe while exuding the Tommy Bahama core brand philosophy, “Life is One Long WeekendTM.”
This new combination restaurant and retail store offers contemporary American cuisine for lunch, dinner and in-between pick-me-ups all day at the 90-seat Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach Bar & Grill, with gorgeous views of Main Beach and the Pacific Ocean across the street. Diners can enjoy a fun, whimsical menu with savory starters such as Lobster Corn Dogs and Shrimp Avalon (chilled tiger shrimp, Dungeness crab, spicy vegetables, avocado and lime juice); satisfying entrees like Poblano Chicken, Arctic Char with Sweet Pea Risotto and Apple Fennel Slaw, and a variety of signature Burgers; as well as decadent sweets such as Triple Chocolate Cake and Root Beer Float. Starters and sides range from $5 to $16; entrees from $12 to $25; desserts from $6 to $10.
There is also a carefully selected list of wines and craft beers, as well as handcrafted cocktails such as Sunburn (Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum, St. Germain, muddled jalapeno, passion fruit and lemon) and Cant-e-lope Tonight (Ketel One, fresh O.J. & melon liqueur).
Before and after drinks and bites, diners can enjoy the Tommy Bahama shopping experience, complete with the popular collection of men’s and women’s sportswear, swimwear, accessories and home decor items; as well as a number of products that are exclusive to Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach, including logoed versions of the Tommy Bahama signature Aruba Zip and Easy Breezer and the exciting new cobranded collection “Sea Bags for Tommy Bahama,” super-cool tote bags made from recycled sails.
Housed at the newly renovated 1931 landmark Heisler Building on Pacific Coast Highway, the 5,500-square-foot space was designed by L.A.-based architectural firm Standard to feature a relaxing, convivial atmosphere and echo the look and feel of both yesteryear and today’s Laguna Beach. The dining room and store area are inviting and open – with island-inspired natural wood shutters, warm-toned white wood beams and paneling, custom hardwood furniture, and walls graced with nostalgic Laguna Beach items such as blow-ups of vintage photographs and authentic Laguna Beach rental swimsuits from the early 20th century.
