Raw-food expert, author, and entrepreneur Matthew Kenney announces the opening of his new Santa Monica restaurant M.A.K.E. in mid-October 2012, showcasing a bounty of original dishes utilizing local, peak-season produce with a whimsical yet approachable menu. As the world’s leading Raw-food professional, Matthew Kenney has authored 10 cookbooks and has been a TEDx featured speaker for his food philosophy. His new restaurant opening marks his first foray on the West Coast and continues his ideology of providing diners nutritious, cutting-edge, flavorful, plant-based dishes that are crafting the future of food.

The mission of M.A.K.E. is simple: to use whole, organic, unprocessed, plant-based foods to achieve healthy, aesthetically polished, and delicious cuisine. “I hope to illuminate the benefits and desirability of a refined and forward-thinking plant-based diet with the opening of M.A.K.E.,” Kenney says. “Southern California has some of the world’s most amazing produce, and I want to share the lifestyle and enjoyment of Raw cuisine in a place where a clean-living culture already exists, and for a community that can appreciate high-quality fare.”

Matthew Kenney Culinary School, located adjacent to M.A.K.E. restaurant, is a state-of-the-art institute offering an opportunity for those of all ages and skillsets (beginners and novices, as well as professional and aspiring chefs) to develop the expertise to prepare Raw and Living food.
