Orange Coast College of Costa Mesa harbors a culinary program that provides students with the realistic exposure that comes in daily commercial kitchens.
How do they channel that exciting rush that comes with service time?
On Thursday’s, for both lunch and dinner services, OCC hosts a prix fixe meal program that is fully student run. While still being considered a classroom, various OCC courses provide this real life experience in both the front and back-of-house. For Spring of 2019, the Captain’s Table will be offering a weekly cuisine from somewhere around the world.
The calendar for the semester’s dining opportunities are:
- February 28: Mexico
- March 7: Italy
- March 14: France
- March 21: Spain
- April 4: Greece
- April 11: China
- April 18: Japan
- April 25: Thailand
- May 2: India
- May 9: American Regional of California
- May 16: American Regional of Cajun/Creole
Lunch seating times: 11:30 am, 11:45 am, 12 pm, 12:15 pm
Dinner seating times: 5:30 pm, 5:45 pm, 6 pm, 6:15 pm
