Wood Ranch Debuts New Quick Casual Service Concept

Wood Ranch is proud to announce the next step in the evolution of the popular brand: WR Kitchen & Bar. WR Kitchen & Bar will open its first location in Laguna Niguel (The Center at Rancho Niguel, 28061 Greenfield Drive) this Spring, with a second location set for Fall  2019 in Carlsbad (The Square at Bressi Ranch, 2668 Gateway Road). WR Kitchen & Bar is tailored to today’s more sophisticated, time-challenged guest with a focus on serving delicious, high quality food at an excellent value, in an energetic, casually-upscale environment.

Featuring a wood-fired open kitchen, WR Kitchen & Bar will offer an a la carte menu, allowing each guest more options to customize his or her order with maximum flexibility in selection of items and portion size. There will also be a wider price range, with items to accommodate everyone’s budget.

“We challenged our entire team to reimagine Wood Ranch to succeed for the next 27 years,” explained Wood Ranch and WR Kitchen & Bar co-founder Eric Anders, referencing the anniversary of Wood Ranch. “We’ll never sacrifice quality, but we are making our service and systems more efficient and economical for our guests. We’re excited about what we’ve developed and believe our guests will be too!”

WR Kitchen & Bar will offer Wood Ranch favorites including tri tip, baby back ribs, the BBQ chopped salad, and fresh, house-made desserts, along with introducing new items. Smoked Steelhead Trout will be available by itself, on salads and featured on a multi-grain grilled bread with guacamole and pickled red onion. Blistered Shishito Peppers and Burnt Ends Caramel Popcorn are new snack items, and a “Little Salad” of roasted heirloom carrots and goat cheese topped with toasted pistachios will be among the new starters. There will also be tacos, uniquely filled with a choice of brisket, pulled pork, smoked steelhead trout, roasted chicken and roasted cauliflower, as well as other new menu items.

WR Kitchen & Bar will also feature a full bar, curated by our beverage team to offer hand-crafted batch cocktails, 12 craft beers on draft, and several outstanding value-priced wines. The bar will offer a lively atmosphere with seating for 16, while the dining room will have seating for 97, and the patio will have an additional 54 seats.
