Social Restaurant Group partners, Andrew and Raquel Dorsey and Chronic Tacos co-founder Dan Biello, known for lively approachable hotspot, SOCIAL Costa Mesa, are pleased to announce that the brand’s second concept is set to open in Huntington Beach in July 2019. Having acquired the location once occupied by SeaSalt Woodfire Grill at 21214 Beach Boulevard, SOCIAL Huntington Beach will welcome back Jeffrey Boullt as Corporate Executive Chef.

Chef Boullt was Executive Chef of SOCIAL Costa Mesa when the restaurant first opened in October of 2014. Boullt returns to SOCIAL Restaurant Group from Playground DTSA, where he was Chef de Cuisine from 2016 to 2018, and most recently, Rose Cafe in Venice Beach where he was Executive Sous Chef, cooking under Jason Neroni until April 2019. Having grown up in Alabama and trained at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans before moving to California, Boullt masterfully merges the two regional cuisines and will bring a playful touch to each thoughtfully curated dish on the Huntington Beach menu.

“It has always felt like I’ve had unfinished business at SOCIAL,” says Boullt. “I’m excited to come back and continue to build upon the vision we dreamed up in 2013 and take SOCIAL Huntington Beach to the next level.”

Reminiscent of sister restaurant, SOCIAL Huntington Beach will be a new-American dining concept offering chef and ingredient-focused dinner, brunch, late-night bites and creative cocktails, bringing crowd favorites from SOCIAL Costa Mesa to the Huntington Beach community. The new location will, however, have its own flare, drawing influence from the seaside surroundings with unique features including a Raw Bar and highlighting the site’s woodfire grill as a backbone flavor to the approachable menu of elevated classics and coastal cuisine.

The beverage program at SOCIAL Huntington Beach, helmed by Bar Director Grayson Diercksmeier, promises to push the envelope with creative craft cocktails. Using fresh, local ingredients to achieve flavors inspired by the food, Diercksmeier’s cocktail menu will be the perfect complement to Chef Boullt’s creations.

“SOCIAL Huntington Beach will be everything our guests love about our Costa Mesa location with a familiar yet beach-inspired vibe,” says Dorsey. “We want to create a space that embraces Huntington’s beach-town community by offering a more playful, bright and beachy atmosphere.”

The interior of the restaurant will be reimagined with a light color palette, bright lighting and a custom designed, centralized bar as the focal point. Offering plenty of natural light, the boho-chic design of the space will incorporate greenery throughout and present Insta-worthy photo moments the brand has become known for. Extend the social experience outside and dine al fresco on the patio complete with an outdoor bar, fire pits, group lawn games like cornhole and more.
