Real Mex, the parent company of casual restaurant chains such as El Torito, Chevy’s Fresh Mex, and Acapulco, has filed for bankruptcy again after its previous occasion in 2012.
The company is looking to have Z Capital Group LLC acquire them, and has made several efforts to rebrand and change leadership within their branches. Real Mex’s brand has several locations in California, with additional restaurants in the Midwest and East Coast. They company has closed roughly half of their locations, but say diners will not be affected by the turmoil.
