It takes a village to raise a child, and it also takes a work-family to care for its own employees during a perilous health crisis amid a holy holiday season. Hotel Maya – a DoubleTree by Hilton distributed Easter bags with household staples and tasty treats to more than 50 employees at the downtown waterfront property on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
With the mantra #HotelMayaStrong, the Hotel Maya Executive Team set-up a drive-through operation to distribute the Easter bags that included: 2 lbs. rice, 2 lbs. beans, 2 lbs pasta, 1 lb. pancake mix, 2 bags dried fruits, 3 assorted boxes of cereal, 2 granola bars, 1 bag of ground French Roast Coffee, 1 Hershey’s chocolate bar, 1 Reese’s peanut butter cup, 1 pair of sunglasses, 1 Maya Beach Ball, various Easter eggs with candy, 2 rolls of toilet paper, and an Easter card from the Hotel Maya family.
“Hotel Maya employees are essential to the operation of the hotel and the relationships created over time with our guests,” said Greg Guthrie, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a DoubleTree by Hilton. “Everyone has been hit hard by the Covid-19 virus and it was important to us to reach out to our employees during the holiday to further lend our support.”
Hotel Maya provided the Easter bags to all employees at the property that included hourly, salaried and managers that are working, furloughed or laid-off during this period.
The employees expressed appreciation for the Easter bags and are keeping themselves safe at home until they are able to come back to work and be a part of the Hotel Maya family and remain #HotelMayaStrong.
