As the pandemic continues threatening Orange County’s most COVID-19 vulnerable, the eight Orange County restaurants serving nonprofit Delivering with Dignity Orange County have now prepared nearly 55,000 life-sustaining meals for those who are hungry, scared and often alone.
But organizers say that now the restaurants, themselves, are under threat as they face a potentially disastrous January and February that might even force their closures.
“We need your help to keep these restaurants going during a historically slow time made worse because of the pandemic and keep the Delivering with Dignity Orange County program alive,” said Daniel Kim, chair of the committee that founded the initiative and cofounder of the Dragon Kim Foundation. “When you order takeout from any of them, you will be entered into a raffle to win $50 restaurant gift cards. We guarantee you’ll have a tasty meal and the satisfaction of knowing that you’re making a difference for your Orange County neighbors.”
Here’s how to participate. For the months of January and February, people visiting any of the participating restaurants can enter to win. For each entry, they are required to take a photo of their receipt and message it to one of the program’s social media accounts – https://www.facebook.com/deliveringwithdignityoc/ or https://www.instagram.com/deliveringwdignityoc/?hl=en Raffles will be drawn each week to choose a winner. Or email their receipt to [email protected]

About Delivering with Dignity Orange County
A unique private-public partnership comprising local funders, private donors, nonprofit organizations, independent restaurant owners and volunteer drivers, the Delivering With Dignity OC service is intended for county residents struggling with poverty on a daily basis who are most at risk according to U.S. Center for Disease Control guidelines for contracting COVID-19 when they leave their homes, including the elderly, those with underlying medical conditions and their family members living in the same household.
The program is completely funded through donations. Founding partners are 2-1-1 Orange County, OneOC, Wells Fargo and the Dragon Kim Foundation.
