Brought on board as Descanso’s Sous Chef when the restaurant opened in November 2018, Chef Fonzy de Zuniga was elevated to Executive Chef in fall of 2020. Chef Fonzy began his culinary career as a high school student shucking oysters and cleaning fish at the San Pedro Docks. 11/20/20

Chef Elvis Morales has been appointed Executive Chef of CdM Restaurant. Chef Morales has been with RJRG for over five years and assisted in the opening of CdM Restaurant in March 2019. 10/9/20

Europa Village has announced the appointments of Hany Ali as Executive Chef and Luis Sandoval as Executive Chef de Cuisine of the multi-winery resort’s culinary operations—including the new Bolero Restaurante—where they will oversee menu development, catering and more. 9/24/20

Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City has appointed Chef Julián
González Cruz, an up and coming chef in the making, Executive Chef for all of its food and beverage enterprises. Chef González comes from the sister property Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage, where he was Chef de Cuisine at the exclusive Forbes’ Four-Star and Wine Spectator Award winner, The Steakhouse. 9/18/20

Chef Mechelle Britland is the first female Executive Chef for TAPS Brewery + Kitchen’s growing and expanding company, adding to a uniquely diverse management team. Chef Britland started her career with TAPS Fish House & Brewery and The Catch 6 years ago and has grown into a phenomenal leader and culinary talent. 8/28/20

Chef Chris Sanchez, who most recently served as Bourbon Steak Orange County’s Executive Sous Chef, has been promoted to Executive Chef at Michael Mina’s Award-winning Bourbon Steak Orange County. Chef Chris opened Bourbon Steak Orange County in 2018 and helped lead the restaurant to incredible success during its first two years. 8/25/20

Chef Robert Gomez is the Executive Chef of A Restaurant! He has been a part of the A family since opening day in 2008 and has been instrumental in creating the dishes that you know and love. Beginning as a Broil Cook, he worked his way up the line to Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and now to esteemed Executive Chef. 8/25/20

Chef Jason Pena has departed Specialty Restaurant Group and has taken the reigns at Waterfalls at the Atrium Hotel.
Chef Thomas Ryan has relocated. He resigned his position with Pelican Grill and has taken over the helm at Big Canyon Country Club.
Yves Fournier is anxiously awaiting the opening of Andrei’s in the City of Irvine. Chef has been with Hyatt Hotels for quite some time; First in Irvine at 6ix Park Grill and then as Executive Sous at the Hyatt Newport Beach.
Chef Joseph Gotti previously of Patina’s Naples at Downtown Disney has taken over the kitchen at Da Vinci in Long Beach. We can’t wait to sample the new menu this month.
Chef Don Schoenburg supervised the reopening of Leatherby’s Cafe Rouge last month. I know he’s looking forward to things calming down a bit once all the new menus etc. are instituted.
