WHAT: On Thursday, October 9, the Tam O’Shanter, a member of the Lawry’s family of restaurants and one of Los Angeles’ oldest eating establishments, will host a highly anticipated four-course wine pairing dinner with Ken Brown Wines. Featured wines include 2014 Ken Brown Sauvignon Blanc, Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara (complimented with an appetizer of assorted cheeses and poached quince); 2013 Ken Brown Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills (complimented with a grilled Portobello and arugula salad with lemon and balsamic); 2013 Ken Brown Pinot Noir, “Rita’s Crown Vineyard”, Santa Rita Hills (complimented with an entrée of duck breast with parsnip puree, carrot chips and red wine reduction); and 2013 Ken Brown Syrah, “A Cuvee”, Santa Barbara County (complimented with a chocolate walnut torte with ganache glaze, candied walnuts and coffee Chantilly cream).
A pioneer in Santa Barbara County, Ken Brown has devoted his career to the pursuit of great Pinot Noir. His craft is his passion and with a very small production of only 3,000 cases per year, he has hands-on involvement in every phase of the winegrowing process.
