Ramey Vineyard Winemaker Dinner
Thursday, March 12 , 2020
at The Hobbit Restaurant
They are honored to host renowned winemaker David Ramey, and his son Alan, for what is sure to be a spectacular night of food and wine pairing (not to mention great company!). With over four decades of experience, David Ramey stands as one of the most important figures in California wine making history. Having studied at UC Davis in the late 70’s, David went on to work at the legendary Chateau Petrus of Bordeaux, France – acquiring a strong basis of traditional & artisan wine making.
Upon is return to California, David helped build the legacies of iconic California wineries like Matanzas Creek, Chalk Hill, Dominus and Rudd – before starting his eponymous winery, Ramey Wine Cellars, in 1996. David is a true master of wine making – championing techniques like native yeast barrel fermentation, sur lie aging, and never acidifying or filtering his wines. Focusing in painstaking detail on classic techniques, David crafts wines of tremendous expression, depth and balance.
