The Park Cafe: Windy City Meets Holy City
The Park Cafe, located near beautiful Hampton Park, presents a Southern spring luncheon with visiting guest chefs Perry Hendrix of Blackbird and Matthew Rice of Girl and the Goat, both located in Chicago. The menu will be a culinary collaboration and showcase dishes that chef John Amato has become known for at the beloved neighborhood restaurant. The four-course meal will be paired with selections from Napa Valley’s Mira Winery and President Jim “Bear” Dyke will be on hand to discuss the wines as well as Winemaker Gustavo Gonzalez.
Thelunch is presented by The Green Heart Project, BB&T Charleston Wine + Food’s Community Partner for 2015. It is a Charleston-based farm-to-school program that pairs volunteers with students to build and maintain an urban garden. The project reiterates classroom curriculum and connects students to fresh, healthy foods, while instilling virtues of hard work & success, fostering relationships and building community.
