Los Angeles’ beloved neighborhood restaurant and bar, Tom Bergin’s celebrates an alternative to the romantic Valentine’s Day holiday with a no-cover, S.A.D. (Single Awareness Day) Party on Saturday, February 14 from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Friends can unite in their singleness by enjoying a DJ spinning unromantic tunes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and themed cocktails the entire evening, such as $5 “Bitter” Old Fashioneds, $8 Black Velvets (champagne with Guinness), and $5 Fireball Shots to send to that special someone who ignites sparks from across the bar. In addition to the regular dinner menu, and to welcome couples seeking a casual date spot, a $30 “Cheap Date” menu for two will be available from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring two Tom Bergin’s Burgers with Irish cheddar, Tullamore onions, and Thousand Island dressing, on a brioche bun; two orders of shoestring fries; and two cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon presented in a champagne bucket of ice. Guests are also highly encouraged to book reservations in advance.

Party-goers can also submit their worst date experience for a chance to win the ultimate prize – a complimentary stay at Hotel Wilshire. Additionally, to add further “flame to the fire,” Tom Bergin’s is encouraging guests to bring their ex-boyfriend or girlfriend’s items (photos, letters, etc.) to burn in the pub’s fireplace or gently-used clothing and items for a Goodwill donation collection.

ABOUT TOM BERGIN’S PUBLIC HOUSE:

In 1936, Irish lawyer Tom Bergin set out to establish an authentic pub in Los Angeles that drew upon his family roots and was defined by warmth, great food, and exceptional hospitality. Housed in a Tudor-style building in the heart of the city at Fairfax Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, “Tom Bergin’s Old Horseshoe Tavern & Thoroughbred Club” quickly became Los Angeles’ “local” Irish pub and a nexus for the community-drawing in neighborhood regulars, sports fans, theater and art lovers, and Hollywood legends like Bing Crosby, John Wayne, and Cary Grant. Throughout the years, the pub’s ownership changed hands amongst loyal patrons, and the legacy of Tom Bergin’s Public House is now faithfully upheld by devoted regulars and current owners Derek Schreck and Jordan Delp. From the thousands of green paper shamrocks that date back to the 1930s and commemorate friends and regulars to the signature “House of Coffee” neon sign out front, Tom Bergin’s honors its history, while also offering today’s guests an inviting atmosphere with elevated and affordable pub fare, an extensive Irish and American whiskey collection, classic cocktails, and a rotating selection of California craft brews on tap. Tom Bergin’s is located at 840 South Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90036. For more information, please call 323.936.7151 or visit www.tombergins.com, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
