This is the first of the 4-part “CULINARY BASICS SERIES” for Fall 2010 offered by Chef Bryce Benes of the Culinary School of Orange Coast College. These classes are beginner cooks or cooks simply wanting to expand their skills, and take place at the Costa Mesa Senior Center (not on the campus of Orange Coast College).

Class: Hearty Fall Soups
Join us as we prepare several hearty soups perfect for the fall season. Students will make butternut squash and apple, cheddar ale, Tuscan ribollita, wild mushroom barley, mulligatawny, split pea and smoked ham, as well as fresh baked-bread. This is a great class for improving knife skills.

A delicious lunch will be served at the end of the class. A recipe booklet will be provided to take home.
