(Costa Mesa, CA, August 2011) ” Crab Tuesdays? Yes, indeed at AnQi by Crustacean at South Coast Plaza. Every Tuesday Master Chef Helene “Mama” An leaves Crustacean Beverly Hills bringing dozens of Dungeness crabs which will be served that evening at the An family’s Orange County location. Upon arrival at AnQi, Chef An works solo in her Secret Kitchen, preparing the signature dish perfected at Crustacean in Beverly Hills and San Francisco decades ago. The savory crabs are served with the House of An’s equally renowned garlic noodles.
The An Famous Roasted Crab is made with fresh, whole Dungeness crabs that weigh an average of two and a half pounds. They may be ordered in the shell ($48) or shelled ($53) for easier eating. The Ans’ preference is in the shell. “They’re finger licking good,” declares Elizabeth An, Chief Executive Officer of House of An. “It’s the best way to enjoy them just pick them up and dig in,” she added.
The Roasted Crab sells out early, so the Ans advise calling a minimum of 24 hours in advance to reserve an order (dinner only). Last week alone there were 100 “crab” reservations. AnQi by Crustacean is located adjacent to Bloomingdale’s at South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol Street in Costa Mesa. For reservations and to pre-order the crab, please call 714. 557.5679.
