On the fourth Wednesday of every month, Michael’s on Naples will have a chefs dinner series on The Rooftop!

For this month’s edition of the monthly Chef Series, Chef Samaniego is welcoming Taco María‘s very own Chef Carlos Salgado to the kitchen! With a shared dedication to exclusively sourcing local produce and regional meats, Taco Maria and Michael’s on Naples both offer unique dining experiences that, when combined, are unmatched.

About the Chef

Name: Chef Carlos Salgado

Specialty: Alta California – a mezcla of Mexican and American cuisine.

Favorite Ingredient: Salgado nixtamalizes and processes all of Taco María’s masa products in house from heirloom varieties of corn grown by small family farms in Mexico.

Accolades: Best New Chef 2015 – Food & Wine Magazine

 

 

 

“I’ll be hosting these dinners once a month where I invite a local chef in for a ‘kitchen playdate’ and we’ll both bring our ideas and skills to the table, so to speak.” said Chef Samaniego.

When pressed for the menu, Samaniego added that the idea for his Chefs’ Dinner it’s a spontaneous evening – much like going to a friends’ home for dinner and not knowing what will be served in advanced. Both chefs will shop the local farmers’ markets and visit Farm Lot 59, the local urban farm, for ingredients the week of the event which will drive the creativity of their five-course dinner.

“The idea behind these monthly Chefs’ Dinners is for our guests to trust us,” said Samaniego. “We want them to be open to new tastes, textures and pairings while availing themselves to new and unexpected experiences.”
