Celebration of Food and Wine

Terranea Resort’s annual Celebration of Food & Wine will take place from September 7-9, 2018, on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. This year’s event features multiple daytime and evening events with seasonally themed menus prepared by Terranea Resort’s award-winning chefs, celebrating locally and sustainably grown and foraged ingredients. Ideal for celebrating with friends, colleagues, and loved ones, the Celebration of Food & Wine offers the perfect setting for a one-of-a-kind dining experience on the Los Angeles Coast.

Pinot & Putting

Friday, September 7 | 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Swing into the weekend with Pinot & Putting at The Links at Terranea. Gather on the ninth hole, overlooking the Pacific and Catalina Island, for a festive putting challenge, prizes, and wine tasting featuring Central Valley Pinots; no golf experience necessary. Tickets are available for $35/pp. Advance reservations required, space is limited.


California ‘Cue 
Friday, September 7 | 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Indulge with the ultimate oceanside California-style barbecue on Catalina Terrace featuring Farm-to-Terranea fare by Executive Sous Chef Bruce Nguyen and Chef de Cuisine Michael Cruz, as well as craft beers and cocktails, local wines, and live entertainment by country artist Daniel Bonte. Featured barbeque specials include Santa Maria tri tip and house-made pork sausage grilled over mesquite natural lump charcoal, 12-hour smoked brisket and beef short rib smoked with oak and pecan wood and whole roasted pig and smoked chicken cooked pit-style alongside street corn, house-made pickles and fresh peach cobbler with brown butter crumble. A la carte tickets are available for $165/pp.


Breakfast at the Beach Cove

Saturday, September 8 | 8:30am – 10:30am

Enjoy an al fresco morning picnic featuring various culinary stations including hot breakfast skewers, a grain bar, fresh smoothies developed by the resort’s nutritionist, coffee, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. Live entertainment provided by The Irie Earth Steel Drum Band. Prior to breakfast, refresh and rejuvenate with an optional Seaside Yoga session from 7:30am – 8:30am on the Ocean Lawn. Following breakfast, join Terranea’s Falconer for an interactive experience featuring a variety of Birds of Prey from 10:30am – 11:00am. A la carte tickets are available for $99/pp.


Coastal Picnic with Jackson Family Wines
Saturday, September 8 | 12:30pm – 2:00pm

Join Master Sommelier Michael Jordan and celebrated Terranea chefs Jonathan De La Cruz and Elie Chow for a coastal family-style picnic. Enjoy a casual seaside lunch on the Palos Verdes Terrace, complete with Jackson Family wine pairing, picnic table seating, and dessert. A la carte tickets are available for $110/pp.

Interactive Sessions
Saturday, September 8 | 2:30pm – 5:30pm

Taste Like a Master Sommelier: Learn how a ‘Master Somm’ approaches the wine tasting process, followed by a blind tasting challenge, games and prizes with Master Sommelier Michael Jordan. 2:30pm – 4:00pm.

Experimental Wine Blending: Andrew Powell of Scheid Family Wines guides you in building a personal wine blend with a fun and instructional seminar and take-home gift. 4:15pm – 5:30pm.

Tickets are available for $120/pp, including admission to both sessions. A la carte tickets are available for $65/pp.

Taste of Terranea Grand Tasting
Saturday, September 8 | 6:30pm – 9:00pm

A decadent evening on the coast featuring top wines of the region, award-winning chefs of Terranea, and its Farm-to-Terranea philosophy. The evening kicks off with a special Champagne reception by Piper-Heidsieck and featured wineries such as Silver Oak, Jackson Family Wines, Justin, Sonoma-Curter, Cakebread Cellars, Veuve Clicquot, Moet & Chandon, J. Lohr, Stag’s Leap, Flowers Winery, ONEHOPE, Villa Oneiro, and more. Guests will taste a variety of locally grown, crafted, and foraged specialties that utilize sea salt, kelp, honey, olives and cheese crafted on-property by Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra. Featured bites include specialties from Terranea’s on-site restaurants such as yakitori grilled chicken oysters and seared Hamachi sashimi from bashi, burnt ends and spicy corn fritters from Nelson’s and grilled octopus and lamb empanadas from catalina kitchen, accompanied by live music from John Khoa. A la carte tickets are available for $225/pp with the inclusion of the Cielo After Dark After-Party.


Cielo After Dark 
Saturday, September 8 | 9:00pm – 12:00am

Following dinner, Cielo After Dark will showcase sweets by Executive Pastry Chef Pierino Jermonti, alongside coffee, tea, and cocktails. DJ Jimbo will provide the evening’s soundtrack under the stars at the water’s edge at the cielo point pool. Admission to the Cielo After Dark ‘After-Party’ is included for all Grand Tasting ticket holders as well as full weekend package guests. Alcoholic beverages at Cielo After Dark are not included in admission but are available for purchase separately. VIP Cabanas and bottle service reservations are available.

Weekend passes are offered at $650/pp including all events Friday through Saturday. Special room rates are available for attendees; please check designated box on ticketing page to receive more information on a preferred event rate. Proof of purchase is required at check-in to confirm the rate. The resort reserves the right to change venue or cancel any events with full refund.
