Sommelier Jordan Shoemaker
A certified sommelier, Jordan joins the team with over 20 years of experience in the industry. At 15 Park Bistro, Jordan oversees all aspects of the restaurant, from front-of-house operations to working closely with the kitchen team alongside executive chef Nick Atkins. Most recently, Shoemaker held the assistant general manager role at Miradoro Restaurant, an award-winning winery restaurant in Oliver.
Jordan’s resume includes an impressive array of hotel and food & beverage brands, including Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Le Relais & Chateau Post Hotel, Hyatt Regency, and others. Eventually, Jordan’s career took him out west, where he and his wife earned their sommelier designations. Wanting to find a stable and wine-rich area to raise a family, the couple soon found themselves relocating to South Okanagan.
“We both love the Okanagan, and we wanted to immerse ourselves within the wineries,” recalled Jordan. “My first position in Osoyoos was at Spirit Ridge as the restaurant manager, where I built the resort’s first authentically local wine list consisting of 100 plus labels from the South Okanagan. This allowed me to become immersed in the region, from the terroir to the winemakers, and most importantly; the locals and the guests who visit.”
