The Philly’s Best story begins in the 1980s when Levey was stationed in San Diego, California while serving in the Navy. Far from home and finding no place to satisfy his cheesesteak cravings, the dream of bringing his favorite Philly food to SoCal was born. Along with his Philly-native wife, Andrea, the couple opened their first Philly’s Best Cheesesteak and Hoagie Shop in 1992. Since then, the brand has expanded throughout California and has long been hailed by Philadelphia transplants as the most authentic Philly Cheesesteak in the state. Further proving that Philly’s Best continues to deliver amazing eats, they were just named a 2021 “Best Sandwich in Orange County” by the Orange County Register, and recognized as “Best Sandwich” by the readers of OC Weekly for three consecutive years. Other notable accolades include “Best Cheesesteak” by LA Magazine and “Favorite Sandwich Shop” by the readers of Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

Levey continued, “We’ve proudly served Real Deal Philly to our California guests for nearly 30 years with our authentic Philly Cheesesteaks rivaling what you’d find at the best sandwich shops in Philly. The addition of bacon and ranch to our popular Chicken Cheesesteak gives fans a chance to try a new take on a Philly’s Best favorite, and it does not disappoint!”

Philly’s Best is celebrating nearly 30 years of true Philly flavor in California. The company was started by native Philadelphians Bob and Andrea Levey, who wanted to bring the flavors of Philadelphia to their new home of Southern California. In 1992, they opened their first Philly’s Best location in Fountain Valley. The company’s authentic flavors start with proprietary recipes, along with ingredients and products direct from Philadelphia, including Amoroso® rolls, Herr’s® Chips, Taylor® Pork Roll, Hank’s Soda, Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer® and a variety of TastyKake® offerings. A uniquely Philly brand and concept, Philly’s Best has grown to 19 locations throughout Southern and Northern California with expansion on the horizon. End the Cycle of Homelessness with Toast Kitchen + Bakery @ Toast Kitchen + Bakery - Costa Mesa | Costa Mesa | California | United States

Toast Kitchen + Bakery does so much more than serve your favorite brunch, and is once again helping serve its community. From July-September, Toast Kitchen + Bakery will donate 10% of its monthly proceeds to Project Hope Alliance, a nonprofit that aims to end childhood homelessness.

As the state continues to reopen, Toast is dedicated to continuing to providing for its community in any way possible. What once started as a way to support nonprofits during the pandemic has now continued to be a core staple at Toast as it continues to donate to worthy nonprofits. Supporting Project Hope Alliance is as simple as stopping by (or ordering for delivery), and indulging in some of Toast’s classics like the Ube French Toast, Orange Chicken & Black Sesame Waffle, Pork Belly Rice Bowl, or your favorite go-to item.

When you support Toast Kitchen + Bakery during these months, you are also helping to eliminate barriers brought on by childhood homelessness that could impede a child’s ability to learn and succeed in school. Established in 1989, the organization remains committed to providing homeless children and youth from kindergarten through age 24 with the tools and opportunities that they need to learn their way to a better tomorrow.

Toast is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 am-7pm and Saturday through Sunday 8am-3pm (closed Mondays). To learn more about Toast Kitchen + Bakery, visit  www.toastkitchenbakery.com or follow them on social @toastmesa.
