Petting recently unveiled some new plans to add a luxury four-diamond hotel wing, featuring a new luxury spa, ballroom, meeting space, resort-style pool complex, two new restaurants and related improvements.

“This development will complement our current offerings, enhance the resort experience for guests, and cement Pechanga Resort & Casino as the preeminent luxury gaming destination in California,” said Patrick Murphy, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation. “This project will meet the demands of our guests- more rooms, a true resort-style pool experience, a luxury spa, and A-list entertainment acts.”

It’s estimated that this project will cost around $550 million and create 2,944 jobs up front as a result of construction-related activities. Dr. Christopher Thornberg, Founding Partner of Beacon Economics, states that an additional 560 jobs per year will result from the new addition.

Standing at 14 stories tall, the same height as the current resort, the new wing will feature around 550 rooms and will be located on the south side of the existing hotel. More than one-third of these new rooms will be suites.

The new luxury spa will be around 23,000 square feet and two-stories tall. The spa, salon and fitness center will feature 17 treatment rooms and a terrace with hydrotherapy pools.

Pechanga guests will also be able to enjoy a new resort-style pool complex that will span four acres and will feature three pools, including a family-oriented pool and a lagoon-style pool, and five hydrotherapy pools.

In addition, two new restaurants will be added to Pechanga’s existing 11 restaurants, including a pool grille with a roof top view and a restaurant and bar in the lobby of the new hotel wing.

The new construction will start in early 2015 and is expected to take about two years to fully complete.
