The Trough Sandwich Kitchen Grand Opening

Rancho Santa Margarita-based Owner Tony Monaco and Executive Chef Karl Pfleider have finalized the opening to be August 20th, and are excited to bring their concept beyond the South County, where their first Trough opened in January 2015.

At The Trough Sandwich Kitchen, Chef Karl focuses on offering unique sandwiches made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. All the sauces and dressings are made in-house, and some sandwiches guests can expect at the Newport location later this summer include:  the Chashu Pork Sandwich with marinated boiled egg, arugula, housemade kewpie mayo, and pickled ginger on a corn roll; and the Spaghetti Sandwich with Bolognese, parmesan, and garlic/herb butter on a corn roll.
