Seasons 52 announces the appointment of Steve de Barril as executive chef partner of Seasons 52 at Westfield UTC, which is opening November 19, 2012.
“De Barril has been an outstanding member of various culinary teams at Seasons 52 restaurants for the past three years, and we are pleased he will be mentoring others and continuing his pursuit of dining excellence for our guests at this beautiful new location,” says Rikin Lakhani, director of West Coast operations for Seasons 52.
Most recently, de Barril served as executive chef partner at Seasons 52 at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix. Previously, he worked in opening sous chef positions for Seasons 52 at South Coast Plaza, California, and Seasons 52 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Prior to joining Seasons 52, de Barril served as sous chef at the former upscale Clubhouse Restaurant in Costa Mesa, California, for three years after a stint as sous chef at the well-known Chicago steakhouse, Keefer’s.
Helming the kitchen at Seasons 52 UTC is a full-circle journey for this native Californian who grew up in a small town in the Gold Country Foothills of Central California, east of San Francisco. After graduating from the prestigious California School of Culinary Arts, Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena in 2001, he started his career as line cook at restaurants in California and also at the Millennium Hotel in Chicago, quickly moving up the ladder from there.
A new resident of San Diego, de Barill looks forward to working with the regional farm purveyors and enjoying all that San Diego has to offer.
