Sommelier Mark Thomas Joins Wynn Las Vegas as General Wine Buyer


Mark Thomas recently joined Wynn Las Vegas as General Wine Buyer. In this role, Thomas will oversee Wynn Las Vegas and Encore’s wine inventory, working closely with the resort’s award-winning restaurants to develop sophisticated wine lists that complement the cuisine of the acclaimed culinary team.

“I am elated to join the team at Wynn Las Vegas and to contribute to the standard of excellence that prevails at a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond resort,” said Thomas. “I am looking forward to carrying on the tradition of delivering memorable experiences through a refined wine program that caters to our guests discerning palates.”

Thomas, a certified sommelier, has over 12 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Most recently, Thomas served as Director of Beverage for Aria Resort and Casino.

Thomas began his career in the food and beverage industry at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His love of wine grew after a colleague introduced him to the classic wine guide, “Windows on The World.” Thomas quickly became fascinated with wine history and pairings and was instrumental in refining the restaurant’s beverage program.

In 1997, Thomas became a certified sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. He has been recognized for his expertise in the industry and has been featured in numerous food and wine publications including the Los Angeles Times, Wine Spectator and Patterson’s The Tasting Panel magazine. Additionally, Thomas was honored with Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award” three times for his creative and dynamic wine lists.
