Pacific City in Huntington Beach adds New Restaurant Concepts, Popular Clothing and Lifestyle Stores to Tenant Line Up – ‘Sneak Peek’ Opening Set for Early November 2015

Locals and visitors of Huntington Beach have been buzzing with excitement since the first tenant – the wildly popular Equinox fitness center – was signed at Pacific City. Today, the dining, entertainment and shopping destination in development continues to announce the addition of dynamic new tenants and officially opened on November 5, 2015.

The most recent additions to Pacific City’s impressive line-up include:


American Dream – Serving as one of Pacific City’s Lot 579 anchors, American Dream will offer the best authentic burgers – with a twist. Alongside the restaurant’s innovative burger menu, American Dream will serve more than 60 IPA beers on tap, a selection of fries, appetizers, and more. Burgers, beers, and the beach at Pacific City – it’s the American Dream!

Backhouse Yakitori + Sushi – With locations in Burbank, West Los Angeles and Koreatown, this will be Backhouse’s first Orange County location. The restaurant features an open kitchen design and happy hour specials and specializes in serving Japanese cuisine and sushi.

Bluegold – Since its beginnings as a Spanish outpost, California has long flourished in the popular imagination as a place where the cream rises and the bold take flight. Bluegold celebrates this land, from citrus groves to the rocky coast, with a renewal of the California coastal eatery. Chef Tin Vuong and partner Jed Sanford of Blackhouse continue their innovation in the dining world by taking farm-to-table back to its roots; back to a time where leisure met cuisine and culture was drawn from the earth and sea. Bluegold invites you to relax by the ocean and enjoy elegant dining, whether fresh oysters from the steam kettle or savory steak grilled over charcoal, or simply a glass of soothing wine below the California sun.

B.CANDY – The team is bringing their unique style and taste up the coast to Huntington Beach’s Pacific City with their second location, set to open in spring 2016. The shop will be filled to the brim with tasty treats of all varieties. Whether it’s the colorful candy in bulk, the award-winning homemade ice cream, or the assortment of creative baked goods—they have something sweet for everyone’s taste. 

Bear Flag Fish Co. – This OC born and bred culinary powerhouse will open its third area location at Pacific City, serving as the anchor for LOT 579. Guests can expect Bear Flag’s famous fish tacos, burritos, sushi, a full bar, and more.

Bungalow – Hospitality visionary Brent Bolthouse will open his second location and first Orange County venture at Pacific City. Bringing all the favorite charms of the Santa Monica hot spot to Huntington Beach, the Bungalow will feature an intimate lounge set with a private dining room, main bar space, and al fresco patio.

Burnt Crumbs – The culinary visionaries behind the popular Burnt Truck and Burntzilla are opening their first gourmet sandwich shop at Lot 579 at Pacific City. Inspired by the traditional deli, Burnt Crumbs will offer slow-roasted and braised meats, brined and pickled vegetables and fruits, hand-cut sides and fresh condiments, and warm artisanal bread, all made in-house. and

Frosted Cupcakery – Its wildly popular flagship location in Belmont Shore, Long Beach has been a sensation for 10 years. Now, Frosted Cupcakery is expanding their cupcake empire beyond LA County to open their first Orange County shop at Pacific City’s LOT 579 in Huntington Beach. It’s a sweet moment for the mother-daughter duo, as Surf City is their hometown. Guests can expect delicious flavors like Red Velvet Cream Cheese, Chocolate Caramel Toffee Buttercream and many more. 

Gelateria Zomolo – owned by two Orange County locals that grew up in Huntington Beach, Gelateria Zomolo will offer Pacific City customers artisanal gelato and sorbet that is made fresh on-site daily. Guests can expect classic and innovative flavors like hazelnut, pistachio, pomegranate sorbet and much more. The gelateria will also serve specialty espresso drinks including affogato with salted caramel drizzle, handmade truffles and other delectable chocolates.

Hans’ Homemade Ice Cream – With its original 1972 location still open in Santa Ana, the great-tasting, old-fashioned and local favorite ice cream shop will be opening its third location at Lot 579 in summer 2016. This Huntington Beach location will churn out ice cream made on-site in small batches and serve up ice cream cones, shakes, sundaes, chocolate-dipped bananas and many more delectable treats to Pacific City guests.

Il Barone Sicilian Street Food – Helmed by the team behind the popular Newport Beach Il Barone Ristorante, this new Italian concept will join the roster of eateries at Lot 579 at Pacific City in 2016. Offering guests authentic handmade pastas and pizzas, this one-of-a-kind concept will have a wine and mozzarella tasting bar, grab and go options for lunch and dinner, as well as housemade gelato.

Lemonade – this LA foodie favorite eatery opened its first Huntington Beach location at Pacific City in December 2015. Lemonade at Pacific City offers the restaurant’s seasonal Southern California comfort food in a fast-casual cafeteria setting with an ocean view location.

Old Crow Smokehouse – Currently with one location in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood, Old Crow Smokehouse is bringing the best BBQ styles from the Carolinas, Memphis, Kansas City and Texas, southern cocktails, and live music to Pacific City, which opened in February 2016. Guests can enjoy their signature “Scruggs Rubs” baby back ribs and Front Porch Punch while enjoying live country music every Friday and Saturday night.

Ola Mexican Cuisine – An exciting new concept from the Huntington Beach-based team behind the popular Mahé restaurants in Seal Beach and Dana Point, Ola (Spanish for “wave” and Hawaiian for “life”) made its debut at Pacific City in December 2015. Fusing elements of authentic Mexican comfort food with elevated South of the Border culinary influences, Ola features magnificent ocean views and a fun, festive ambiance.

Philz Coffee – the San Francisco-based coffee shop best known for its customized blends of drip coffee – made one cup at a time – is opening their first Orange County location at Pacific City. Their mission of bettering people’s days comes with over 25 years of experience in creating their proprietary blends. As a full service coffee bar, their baristas will handcraft each cup at a time to each customer’s taste. Each and every Philz Coffee location is unique to the community it’s in, so HB locals and visitors are sure to love the new coffee shop in town!

Pie-Not – Orange County’s first Australian meat and vegetarian pie, pastry and dessert shop is opening their second location at Lot 579 at Pacific City. The fast-casual eatery will introduce for the first-time Australian beer and wine and fresh made-to-order salads and side salads that will pair perfectly with their delectable sweet and savory offerings. HB customers will now be able to watch their pies being made and have an interactive experience every time they visit Pie-Not at Lot 759.

PopBar  – The fan favorite handcrafted gelato on a stick made with all natural ingredients and customizable toppings is opening at Pacific City inside Lot 579. PopBars will be made fresh daily on-site and offer the perfect, refreshing treat after a day spent shopping – or at the beach!

Portola Coffee Lab – Opening their sixth Portola Coffee Lab location at Pacific City in 2016, husband and wife team Jeff and Christa Duggan are excited to bring their award-winning coffee and focus on quality ingredients, brewing science and freshness to Huntington Beach. They strive to empower the community with quality, traceable, fresh-roasted and fresh-brewed coffee, presented in an artful context – one cup at a time.

Saint Marc Pub-Café, Bakery & Cheese Affinage – This new restaurant represents a remarkable and noticeably new concept offering exceptional American fare in SoCal comfort. Saint Marc’s unique selection of distinctive food and beverages include 32 wines on draught, baked goods, and over 100 cheese selections—all available tableside through innovative iPad menus, offers everything from chicory coffee and beignets to canned craft beer and signature bacon flights.

Simmzy’s – This coastal foodie favorite boasts locations in Manhattan Beach, Venice and Long Beach – and now their first OC location at Pacific City. The restaurant features Simmzy’s hallmark pub-style fare, burgers and local beer.

Ways & Means Oyster House – has found its new home – with prime oceanfront views – at Pacific City. Loading its menu with ocean-inspired bites, the Huntington Beach installment of Ways & Means will lighten the former surf and turf cuisine with a focus on sustainably caught fish and fresh vegetarian plates. The oyster offerings have also expanded, including raw oysters and clams paired with mignonette, lemon, and tabasco; seafood towers; and creamy lobster bisque are just a few of the bites offered at Ways & Means.

Ways & Means At Home – the talented team behind the Ways & Means Oyster House opened their first culinary retail store at Pacific City in March 2016. The 1096 SF space will offer chef-inspired contraptions and concoctions from around the globe. In addition to offering a carefully curated collection of cookbooks, instructional videos, packaged goods, kitchen smallwares, and culinary apparel, Ways & Means has chosen this venue to launch their private label wine, blended to pair beautifully with their cuisine or to enjoy while celebrating the sunset. The store will also host special tastings, plus in-store appearances and demonstrations by top chefs. Ways & Means Culinary will occupy the space next to the restaurant at Pacific City, and will feature housemade sauces and rubs available for sale as well.

Cherry Hills Market – their first brick and mortar location opened at Pacific City in November 2015. This quaint home decor shop features unique vintage and antique finds, along with handmade furniture and accent items. Their premium collection is available at affordable prices, and each item is carefully curated by their talented sourcing and design team.

Drybar – is based on a simple philosophy: Focus on one thing and be the best at it. For Drybar, that’s blowouts. The idea was a natural one for curly-haired founder Alli Webb, a longtime professional stylist, who grew tired of overpaying for blowouts at traditional salons. Named one of the top “100 Brilliant Ideas” by Entrepreneur Magazine and one of New York Magazine’s Boom Brands, Drybar is on track to have over 70 retail locations by the end of 2016. Drybar also offers a full line of professional hair styling products & tools, aptly named in keeping with the pervasive bar theme, all of which were created for the perfect blowout. Equinox – the leader in innovative fitness and restorative wellness occupies approximately 30,000 square feet as the corner anchor of Pacific City. Equinox at Pacific City is a full-service, state-of-the-art sports, health, and fitness center in the exciting Equinox tradition. Drawing inspiration from its beautiful setting overlooking the ocean at Pacific City, Equinox incorporates the beach and other coastal elements into its innovative and compelling fitness and wellness offerings at the center.

Heirlooms & Hardware – The popular home store known for its custom reclaimed wood furniture and vintage finds opened their second Orange County location at Pacific City in January 2016. This location features interactive experiences such as succulent planting and leather workshops, as well as video elements to give shoppers an inside look at Heirlooms & Hardware’s process of creating signature custom furnishings.

Holly and Hudson – Boasting a lavish and indulgent salon experience, this nail lounge concept is the actualization of the efforts and aspirations of industry professionals with over thirty years of expertise. Despite their much-vaunted success in building California’s largest chain of luxury nail salons, this creative team has found a vivacious and unique identity under the auspices of second-generation leadership. Linksoul – A lifestyle brand centered around golf, art, travel and coastal living will be opening their first retail location at Pacific City this summer. The store will feature Linksoul’s collection of knit polos, boardshorts, pants, woven shirts, t-shirts, loungewear, activewear, men’s accessories and an opportunity for customers to personalize their golf gear and leather goods in-store. There will be artwork for sale curated by the Linksoul team, a putting green with select putters, limited edition hand crafted surfboards and skateboards, and more.

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics – Opening their newest location at Pacific City this spring, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics are purveyors of good, clean fun. They offer luxurious and ethical skincare, haircare and bath indulgences, as well as unique gifts filled with fragrant and effective products. Creating innovative cosmetics using fresh fruits and vegetables, the finest essential oils and ingredients that are ethically and sustainably sourced for 20 years, the brand is excited to bring their beautiful and effective products to Pacific City.

Rudy’s Barbershop – Since its Seattle conception in 1993, Rudy’s Barbershop has been committed to providing top-notch haircuts for men and women at an affordable price. Rudy’s offers a one-of-a-kind experience with a curated blend of art, music, and sense of place. Every shop is a cross-generational community center, buzzing with creative energy. Rudy’s Barbershop will offer a fun hair salon concept with a unique atmosphere that will further enhance the sense of community and culture at Pacific City.

Sephora – Sephora, the leading expert in all things beauty, opened their first Huntington Beach store at Pacific City in February 2016. The newest location offers over 5,000 SF of Sephora’s unrivaled selection of makeup, skin care, fragrance and more from classic and emerging brands, as well as unparalleled service from their team of experts and an interactive shopping environment.

TOP DOG barkery*bath*boutique – the gourmet dog treat bakery moved from their current Corona del Mar location to Pacific City in November2015. The ‘barkery’ offers personalized cakes, pastries, a healthy supply of chew sticks and packaged “Made in America” treats for your four-legged friends. Barnabas Clothing Co. – Opening their first Orange County location at Pacific City, this positive lifestyle and socially conscious clothing brand offers the latest in coastal designs for men, women and kids. For every purchase made, Barnabas donates a portion of the proceeds to The Living Room International, a non-profit organization based in Western Kenya that provides comprehensive care to men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS and other life threatening diseases. H&M – Popular the world over, this Swedish retail clothing company is renowned for its fast-fashion clothing for men, women, teenagers and children opened at Pacific City in November 2015.

Irene’s Story – A contemporary, bohemian clothing store that prides itself in always being one step ahead of trends, Irene’s Story delivers fabulous apparel and accessories to fashion-forward clients. Irene’s Story opened their second Huntington Beach location at Pacific City in November 2015. 

Kin Los Angeles – is opening their first Orange County location at Pacific City. Kin specializes in carrying the most sought-after handbags, shoes, accessories and clothing from brands like Tibi, Phillip Lim, T by Alexander Wang, and Opening Ceremony. With two locations currently in LA, Orange County shoppers can finally shop fashions top independent luxury brands at Kin Pacific City.

Smocking Birds – Owned by Huntington Beach residents and mother and daughter duo Becky Pierce and Stephanie Holdridge, Smocking Birds is offering one-of-a-kind baby and children’s apparel and accessories at Pacific City. The beloved boutique features traditional hand-smocked dresses and rompers, boys and girls’ clothes from newborn to size 6, beach accessories, gifts, and classic books.

Sunglass Resort – This beach-vintage industrial inspired boutique is a premier optical and sunglass destination, offering renowned brands including Ray-Ban, Gucci, Tom Ford and Oliver Peoples as well as lesser-known emerging brands with forward, fashion appeal.  Their collection of high-quality eyewear spans a range of styles, from classic to modern, trendy to sports functional, and vintage inspired pieces sourced from around the world.

TankFarm – This stylish general supply store for today’s gentleman of sport and leisure is based in Seal Beach and will expand to a second location at Pacific City. Tankfarm’s aesthetic is classic, educated, and rooted in tradition.

Tommy Bahama – The iconic island-lifestyle brand opened a retail store in the brand new Pacific City in November 2015. The sprawling store carries the complete Tommy Bahama collection of men’s and women’s sportswear, swimwear, footwear and accessories, as well as home décor items.

The Wearhouse Boutique – the contemporary women and men’s clothing boutique opened its first California location at Pacific City. The stylish boutique, curated by owner Sara Wear, also carries jewelry and home décor.

West of Camden- the stylish husband and wife duo behind the California Born, London-inspired boutique, opened their second location at Pacific City in November 2015. Lindsey & Adrien Lamoureux created West of Camden as an extension of their love for creativity & design. Shoppers can select from cutting edge women and men’s clothing and accessories.

Urban Outfitters – the global retailer with a boutique approach will be opening their first Huntington Beach store at Pacific City. Known for its trend conscious fashion and lifestyle products with an urban edge, the Urban Outfitters at Pacific City will be tailored specifically for the HB shopper. Expect funky, on-trend pieces for women and men, accessories, home decor, art, books, gifts and much more. 

The Pacific City project encompasses a total of 11 acres of prime, oceanfront real estate in Huntington Beach, California, with 191,000 square feet of open-air retail, restaurants and entertainment that is set for completion in the November 2015.
