Translated, Manawa means “lemon” in Thai. In this Thai-inspired cocktail, lemons are used three ways. The balanced flavors remind the palate of Thai food:


GingerLemongrassCucumberBasil LeavesYellow JalepenoSugarLemon JuiceGinLemon Oil


  1. Thai influenced cold pressed syrup:
  2. 1 cup ginger
  3. 2 cups lemongrass
  4. 4 cups lemon cucumber
  5. 20 lemon basil leaves
  6. 1/2 cup yellow jalepeno
  7. 4 cups sugar
  8. Chop and combine ingredients.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours, then strain.
  10. Mix with:
  11. 1 oz cold pressed syrup
  12. 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  13. 2 oz gin (TRU Gin from Greenbar Craft Distillery recommended)
  14. A dash of lemon oil
  15. Shake ingredients together and strain.
  16. Garnish with cilantro and fresh lemon verbena.
