The Pie Hole, the Los Angeles-based American specialty pie and coffee shop, is pleased to announce that a new location hopes to open in Venice in July 2017. The western Los Angeles County location will be the first of three to be opened by the franchisee. The Pie Hole is currently the only specialty coffee shop growing through franchising in the United States.
The Pie Hole was founded out of a lifetime love of pies. Founder and CEO Matthew Heffner has been baking pies with his mother, Rebecca Grasley, since he was a child. After moving to Los Angeles, the pair opened The Pie Hole to make their mouthwatering traditional and creative baked goods available to the public.
All of The Pie Hole’s menu items are made from scratch and by hand, featuring classic family recipes from Grasley’s recipe book that has been passed down 4 generations. The All-American pie shop adds modern twists to their recipes and serves both sweet and savory pies with favorites like the Earl Grey Tea Pie and the Mac ‘n Cheese Pot Pie.
To pair with their one-of-a-kind pies, Heffner and team built a specialty coffee program which rivals the most celebrated coffee shops in the country – complete with Q Graders and certified baristas on staff so customers can enjoy hand pulled espresso drinks using fair trade sourced beans, featured blends, or nitro cold brew from a tap in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
“We love coffee,” says founder Matthew Heffner, “We want to bring specialty coffee to people who are curious about better coffee or too intimidated to order something new and different. We hope to provide a comfortable and educational environment where our customers can learn more about the pleasures and comfort of coffee while enjoying a delicious pie. We’re excited to be in Venice and think the food, coffee, and ambience will resonate well with the area’s neighborhood feel.”
Franchisee Hussein Ghacham has experience in the apparel industry including multi-unit retail store ownership, wholesale, development, national and international trade shows, import and export. He is currently researching real estate options for the other 2 units.
The Pie Hole is partnering with Fransmart, the franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands like Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill.
