Pie-Not – Huntington Beach – August 2016

Pie NotHuntington Beach locals and visitors alike can now get an authentic, Australian food and beverage experience in their own backyard, with the opening of

Pie-Not at LOT 579 at Pacific City in Huntington Beach. At this modern food hall, Pie-Not joins an impressive and growing line-up of creative culinary entrepreneurs. The new location offers guests brand-new menu items, including Australian beer, wine and fresh-made salads, as well as the artisan hand-held pies and delectable pastries that have made Pie-Not a household name for foodies across Orange County and beyond.

“We have always had plans to expand Pie-Not into other markets, and the LOT 579 food hall offers us a chance to introduce our fast-causal concept to new customers and our fans that have been driving to Costa Mesa to get their Pie-Not fix,” said Australia-born Jai Snowdon, who, with co-founder Ryan Lopiccolo, an Orange County native, opened Pie-Not in May 2013 in Costa Mesa. “Meat pies are the most popular post-surf food in Australia, so it seemed appropriate to open across from one of the most famous surf breaks in the world.”

In addition to attracting hungry surfers, Pie-Not at LOT 579 aims to expand its eatery’s already broad appeal by offering four new salads including The Pinota (classic style pinola salad), Acropolis Now (modern Greek salad), Nothing Beets Kale (chopped kale and beet salad), and Sunflower Salad (butter lettuce and sprouts). Owners Jai and Ryan created each salad, and they come in two sizes with the option to add protein. The small salads pair perfectly with a pie and the large salads stand alone as healthy meals. In addition to salads, Pie-Not at LOT 579 will serve Australian beer including Coopers and wine by Australian labels Penfolds and Barossa Valley Estates.

“Our customers have been asking for side salads to accompany their meat pies since we opened,” said Pie-Not Co-Founder and CFO, Ryan Lopiccolo. “And, Jai and I have been wanting to feature the beers and wines we enjoy during our visits to Australia – our new shop was just the place to make these exciting additions to our menu.”

At LOT 579, die-hard Pie-Not fans can still expect their Costa Mesa favorites made with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, including the Classic Dog’s Eye, Sag Roll, Drunken Cow, and sweet treats like the traditional Aussie dessert, the Lamington and the Slice of Heaven. Gluten-free pie options will be available, as well as a monthly Chef’s Special. Pie-Not also offers catering for parties, work events, and large groups.

Pie-Not LOT 579 at Pacific City is open from 10:30am-9pm Monday-Sunday and located at 21058 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, CA. For more information, please visit pienot.com and follow along @pie_not for weekly specials, events, new menu items, and Aussie fun.
