Moulin – Laguna Beach – September 2016 – Just Opened

Moulin opened its second location in the heart of Laguna Beach. The new location on Forest Avenue fills the Scandia Bakery location. Laurent Vrignaud’s new location offers a similar authentic French experience to his award-winning flagship store in Newport Beach, which won the award for Best French restaurant at the 5th Annual Golden Foodie Awards last weekend.

“Laguna Beach has a special place in my heart. Its unique, relaxed vibe reminds me of the seaside communities across France,” explains proprietor Laurent, who moved to Laguna Beach with his family in 2002. “In Laguna Beach, everyone walks about town, just as they do in the villages of France. For this reason, it has been my dream to recreate the cafe culture of coastal France here in Laguna Beach.”

In the mornings, guests will enjoy coffee and espresso beverages complemented with classic pâtisserie and boulangerie items as well as made-to-order crepes and waffles. Fresh baked breads and classic viennoiserie are available in the early mornings and continuously baked fresh throughout the day.

Moulin PastryIn the afternoons and evenings, Moulin serves its slow-cooked rotisserie chicken. A large window into the kitchen showcases rotisserie chicken turning on specialty ovens imported from France. Guests can enjoy a glass of French wine or beer complemented with cheese and charcuterie. Exclusive to the new Laguna Beach location are a selection of hand-crafted ice cream elegantly served in a traditional coupe glacée and a French hot dog featuring housemade sausage served in a fresh-baked baguette.

“Catering to the Laguna Beach lifestyle, Moulin will wake up and go to sleep with the city,” added Laurent. “Moulin Laguna Beach is a place designed by locals, for the locals.”

A full demolition of the old space results in new structural additions to the iconic Laguna Beach locale include a front patio, stand-alone coffee bar, and exhibition window into the kitchen. Much like its flagship location in Newport Beach, the new Laguna Beach location delivers a French experience for all the senses.

Moulin features vintage furnishings and décor such as bistro tables and chairs, original metal plaques, light fixtures, and framed French art – all collected by Laurent from France. The sounds of French music and French-speaking guests fill the air along with the scent of fresh-baked breads.

Totaling 1600 sq. ft., the new location sits at the heart of Laguna Beach’s popular Forest Ave and offers indoor and patio seating. Within walking distance to Main Beach, much of Moulin’s menu is available to-go, much like many cafes in cities along coastal France.

Moulin Laguna Beach is located at 248 Forest Ave, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, please visit: www.moulinbistro.com

About Moulin

Since opening its doors in September 2014, Moulin has been delighting guests with its authentic French foods and culture. Born and raised in Montmartre, Paris, Laurent Vrignaud created Moulin out of the love for the French bistro culture he has missed since moving to California in the 1980s. From the moment you step inside, Moulin transports you to France with the smell of fresh artisan bread, the sight of fresh chickens turning in the rotisserie and the sound of people speaking French. Open seven days a week, Moulin serves breakfast, fresh-baked breads, viennoiserie and pastries, rotisserie chicken, charcuterie and cheese plates, French wine and beer, and the most beloved dishes served across the country. Moulin has locations in Newport Beach (1000 Bristol Street North in Newport Beach, CA 92660) and Laguna Beach (248 Forest Ave, Laguna Beach, CA 92651)
