Sizzling Summer Menu


(New Fare Featuring Bold Flavors Runs ThroughAugust 1)

The dog days of summer are nearly upon us and that means that Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill at South Coast Plaza is rolling out its new seasonal lunch and dinner menus along with some cool skinny cocktails, announced Executive Chef Daniel Stevens. The menu will be served throughout the restaurant including its lushly landscaped and lit patio, which has become one of OC’s most popular al fresco dining spots. Among the new items:

·Crab Cakes — Three seared lump crab cakesserved with jalapeño remoulade for $13.95 (dinner only)

· Habanero Chicken Pasta — Tender chicken breast served over a bed of angel hair pastawith baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and capers
sauteed in a light habanera-citrus wine sauce for $14.95 (lunch) $15.95 (dinner)

·Blackened Tilapia The tender white fish is served with crisp summer vegetablesand finished with a grilled pineapple slaw for $13.95 (lunch) $14.95 (dinner)

·BBQ Pork Chops– Boneless pork chops seasoned with a house made dry-ruband finished with tangy BBQ sauce and served withred-skin potato salad and asparagus for $16.95

·Strawberry Icebox Cake — Sweet, ripe strawberries layered with ladyfingersand lightly sweetened, fresh whipped cream for $7.95

For lunch only the summer menu includes a crab cake salad for $15.95 and a chicken salad sandwich served on toasted brioche with a choice of sweet potato or steak fries for $13.95. Among the summer drinks are a Skinny Adult Agua Fresca with 1800 Silver tequila, strawberry, watermelon,Serrano pepper, lime and agave for $9.50, Skinny Garden Margarita with 1800 Silver tequila, cucumber,cilantro, lime and agave for $9.50 and nonalcoholic Strawberry Lemonade for $3.50.
