In April 2012 President Barack Obama signed into law the new JOBS ACT, which in part ushered in a new form of online capital funding for small and medium sized businesses called Crowdfunding. This online digital ecosystem connects both entrepreneurs and profitable businesses with much needed capital to fund thousands of projects globally. But who needs it?

With CF expecting to top $5bil in 2014, the impact is changing the traditional landscape for private funding like VC and Angel investments.
