525 S. Flower Street,
Beginning Monday October 1, 2012 through Sunday, October 28, diners at CHAYA Downtown can delve into a shellfish-centric menu for its inaugural month-long “Crustacean Food Fair.” CHAYA DOWNTOWN’s Executive Chef Atsushi Kenjo has created an imaginative menu that will be offered nightly during dinner service throughout the month. Building off of CHAYA Restaurants’ traditional culinary celebrations inspired by Japanese culture, lauded variations of crustacean including Langoustine and Maine Lobster will feature prominently on the menu.
The mouthwatering tasting menu will feature starters such as a Dungeness Crab Duo ($18); Rock Shrimp and Bay Scallop Ceviche with Aji-Amarillo Ponzu ($14); and Half Maine Lobster Sushi featuring four Nigiri-style sushi preparations complemented by Lobster Miso Soup ($26). Main entrees will feature distinctive preparations for crustacean aficionados such as a Pan Roasted Langoustine Ojja with Rock Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, Mussels, Eggs, and Chorizo ($29); Half Maine Lobster & Jidori Chicken Hot Pot with Porcini Mushrooms, Cippolini Onions, Baby Carrots, and Heirloom Potatoes ($36); Dungeness Crab Pilaf and Tai Snapper with Thai Spiced Lemongrass-Lime Leaf Coconut Sauce ($28); and Maine Lobster Ravioli with Basil Cream Pesto Sauce, Marinara, and Parmigiano-Reggiano ($21).
