Peter Liem is one of the most recognized international authorities of the subject of Champagne; his book “Champagne” demonstrates his breath of knowledge and passion for the topic. I have attended his classes and have read his book and someday I want to meet him for lunch in the champagne region and maybe even try to convince him to give us a presentation at The Original Wine Club (TOWC).
On a local level, George Pavlov, a sales representative for Skurlink wines may not be Peter Liem, but his knowledge of champagne is better than any other salesperson I know. We get together as often as appropriate to discuss and taste champagne and eventually select champagne for the TOWC and our customers. Recently we sat down to taste and select 6 champagnes to present and pour at our Champagne and Fried Chicken event, on Thursday August 23. This will be a walk-around tasting event; customers will be able to socialize with George while tasting champagne, ask questions and enjoy fried chicken and potato chips for fun. If you like champagne this is a “don’t miss event.” I am sure you will enjoy having a conversation about champagne with George.
