Irvine's hidden gem, Bacchus Bar & Bistro - Irvine, has been a local favorite since its opening in Quail Hill. Nestled in the corner of Shady Canyon's local shopping center, Bacchus almost appears intentionally unseen to imitate its homey and comfortable ambiance. For the countless customers who have experienced the Bacchus charm, they all rave about their extensive wine selection, unique food creations, and live entertainment Thursday through Saturday.
Bacchus is known for its relaxing vibe and wants customers to feel like they are drinking their favorite glass of wine at home with friends. However, leave the cooking to renowned chef, Charity Smith. Smith outdoes herself with decadent masterpieces like the lobster and Spanish chorizo fondue or the heavenly lamb burger on an egg bun topped with goat cheese, roasted tomato, and lemon tahini yogurt. If it is possible to have any room left, try the customer favorite butterscotch pot de crème. OC Weekly, Riviera, and The Daily Pilot are a few who recognize Smith's raw talent.
Bacchus went through a major remodel in early 2014, transforming a once retail-driven concept into a destination that offers more than just a Wine Spectator Award-Winning selection of 350 wines. Bacchus also prides itself on a lovingly selected array of six craft beers along with 20 micro brews. If choosing the right wine isn't your forte, join in on a Wednesday night when Bacchus throws their monthly wine-tastings.
About Bacchus Bar & Bistro:
Formerly known as Bacchus Secret Cellar, the location was quietly renovated and relaunched as Bacchus Bar & Bistro in early 2014. Bacchus is managed by Deb Willems and the kitchen is led by her daughter, Chef Charity Smith, both formerly of Patina Group. The comfortable and welcoming atmosphere includes dozens of dining tables, a lounge, and an outside smoking area with a variety of cigar options available. Live music can be heard on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
In 2014, Bacchus was also the recipient of the Wine Spectator Award Of Excellence.
