LOCANDA DEL LAGO CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS WITH A MERRY “CENA DI NATALE” CHRISTMAS MENU
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Santa Monica’s Northern Italian restaurant will serve a seasonally inspired, multi-course menu, crafted by Executive Chef Gianfranco Minuz
WHAT: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24 and 25, 2011), Locanda del Lago—located on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica—invites friends and families to gather around the table for a holiday-inspired, three- or four- course feast ($55 for three courses; $68 for four courses; not including tax and gratuity). Featuring traditional Italian winter ingredients, such as chestnuts, artichokes, and veal, the specials will be offered alongside an optional wine pairing menu ($25) and a seasonal dessert ($11).
Executive Chef Gianfranco Minuz’s “Cena di Natale” (Christmas supper) menu will include:
Salmone Scozzese al Vin Brulée con Melograno
Scottish salmon marinated with farmers’ market pomegranate and spiced wine reduction, served with local Kabocha squash “in carpione” ($18 à la carte)
Cappeletti di Capponein Brodo
Capon chicken tortellini with chicken consommé and Grana Padano ($19 à la carte)
Branzino Mediterraneo in Crosta di Carciofi
Mediterranean sea bass in an artichoke crust, with roasted Weiser Farm beets and farmers’ market artichoke heart-white wine reduction ($32 à la carte)
Filetto di Vitello con Castagne e Spugnole
Roasted & sliced veal tenderloin with Morel mushroom and chestnut sauce, served with sautéed farmers’ market winter greens ($36 à la carte)
Semifreddo al Mandarino con Panettone
Frozen mandarin sabayon with Panettone crust and honey-hazelnut meringue (additional $11)
