After only 14 months Holstein’s Shakes & Buns – Costa Mesa has closed.
Holstein’s Shakes and Buns Orange County, featuring its signature neon-pink cow, gourmet burgers, shakes, salads and more will mark the first California location for the lively American restaurant, following the launch of Holstein’s Shakes and Buns inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in 2010.
“We’ve had our eye on Orange County for quite some time now, and have always known it would be a great location for the Holstein’s brand, said Block 16 Hospitality Founder Billy Richardson. We’re so pleased to have found a new home and welcome guests to try the menu our customers have grown to love.”
Located within Bloomingdale’s at South Coast Plaza, the 11,000-square-foot, contemporary burger concept will bring an inspired and original approach to house-made cuisine. “We’re excited to be closer to local farmers markets and purveyors in Orange County and join a collection of incredible restaurants in this great culinary destination, said Anthony Meidenbauer, corporate executive chef and director of culinary operations.” This new location will put us in proximity to take advantage of all the fresh ingredients Southern California has to offer and importantly, fantastic local brewers.
The menu includes hand-crafted specialty burgers; garden fresh salads and for the first time, beer-inspired entrees. A returning menu favorite set to debut on the Holstein’s Orange County menu is the restaurant’s signature burger, The Gold Standard“featuring a dry-aged beef patty stacked high with tomato confit, smoked bacon, aged goat cheddar cheese with arugula. In addition to creative burgers and signature alcohol-infused ‘Bamboozled milkshakes such as the celebrated Campfire S’mores, which includes Premium Marshmallow vodka, chocolate marshmallows and graham cracker crumble, the restaurant will boast one of Orange County’s preeminent beer collections with a Certified Cicerone on staff.
Holstein’s Shakes and Buns is poised to become a premier beer destination in Orange County, with a top selection of local, regional and niche beers that draw on Southern California’s distinguished brewery culture. Beer aficionados can expect creative beer programming, including brewers’ dinners and special events in the restaurant’s private dining “Beer Cave” a unique climate controlled environment set below the main floor.
